• Abstinence from alcohol and other mood altering chemicals
         - and -
• Attainment of an improved lifestyle through achieving a comfortable level of sobriety and mental health.

These goals are met through:

• Guiding recognition of the impact of the disease in all areas of their lives
•  Attending to matters of general and psychological health
• Learning and practice coping skills
• Establishing a community support system

Further, the following basic philosophical assumptions underlay the mission of Focus Health Care.

• Treatment shall be accessible and available to all clients from its primary service area regardless of sex, race, creed, color or national origin.
   
• All clients shall be treated with respect and dignity.
   
• Treatment approaches may vary based on needs of clients so staff can assist a client in developing resources for self-help and taking responsibility for their recovery, lives and personal relationships.
   
• Treatment services will be based on comprehensive and accurate assessments to determine needs of a client and/or family member.
   
• Effective treatment services will be based on comprehensive individualized treatment plans.
• Quality treatment services result from the expertise, skills and involvement of a variety of professional staff.
   
• Focus Health Care will continuously assess and prioritize the needs and expectations of the community and work cooperatively with other health care providers and resources to address specific community needs.
   
• Focus Health Care will strive to assure clients receive treatment services in as cost-effective manner as possible, providing itemized bills and assuring no client shall be discharged for lack of reimbursement.
   
• Focus Health Care will continuously evaluate the quality and appropriateness of services.
• Evaluation input will be sought from clients and their families; staff; third-party customers; and the community so Focus Health Care can monitor its services and delivery.
