About Us
Focus Health Care was founded in 1992 by a physician who had been the Medical Director of inpatient chemical dependency units. He believed that treatment for substance abuse and dependency could be done safely in an outpatient setting. He further believed outpatient services would be more readily accepted by clients and families, as it provides treatment is a less restrictive manner than hospitalization with the least disruption to a client’s family and daily life responsibilities.
Focus Health Care has grown from providing two treatment services to the provision of thirteen services. The newest being Co-occurring disorders treatment for those individuals with both substance abuse and mental health needs. To make treatment accessible, Focus Health Care has contracted with fifteen insurance companies and managed care systems as a preferred provider.
The clinical staff of Focus Health Care are substance abuse providers credentialed by ODADAS, the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services. Many staff have additional specialties in art therapy, education and mental health treatment. All levels of care are provided with ease and professionalism. Therapy groups are kept small, enabling the provision of personalized, individualized treatment in a respectful, caring environment.
